Bacon en toutes lettres

L'exposition est consacrée aux œuvres tardives du célèbre peintre britannique, réalisées entre 1971 et 1992, année de sa disparition.

Dans la seconde partie de sa carrière, Bacon fait entrer les livres dans ses œuvres. George Bataille, Michel Leiris, Nietzsche... viennent nourrir sa vision du monde polarisée entre civilisation et barbarie, beauté et laideur, vie et mort, ainsi que son travail permanent de déconstruction du monde « poétique », qui rejette toute forme d'idéalisme.
